About me
Hi, I'm Adam.
I have a particular interest and expertise in working with body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), appearance concerns and anxiety. BDD was the subject of my masters thesis and is connected with my own history.
I am one of a few lived experience therapists working with BDD- meaning I had this disorder and have recovered, this gives me unique insights into what my clients are going through. I also work with young men who are experiencing difficulties transitioning into healthy adulthood. Their issues often include self esteem, anger and life meaning and purpose. In addition, I help individuals experiencing relationship challenges, working to bring clarity and resolution. Other areas of interest include grief, crises of meaning, spiritual emergence and emergency. I'm open to working with many different issues and I'm always pleased to offer a trial conversation to see if I may be a good fit for you- it's essential you feel comfortable with your therapist.
Why not send me a message and we can start the conversation, no obligation.
I aim to be compassionate with all my clients; the way I work is insight based. This means that I support you to understand the deeper emotional, relational and psychological patterns that shape your feelings, behaviours and the difficulties you are facing now.
I work with individuals from across the English speaking world. For clients in the USA I offer coaching specifically for appearance anxiety, body image concerns and BDD.
I also offer groups and workshops relating to BDD and I supervise and train other therapists who work with this group of clients.
