About me
Hello, I’m Adam, a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, and doing Advanced training in Transactional Analysis.
If that sounds like a mouthful, all this means is that I am a counsellor who will listen and be led by you, exploring your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in a safe, non-judgemental space, and I may use some easy-to-understand theories to help you make sense of these as we go.
I am passionate about mental health. I have worked with chronic anxiety in a trauma-informed way. I have experience as a practitioner in the field of addiction, particularly working with people who are affected by a loved-one’s addiction. I am also a vegan with a deep level of empathy for both humans and animals.
Maybe you are someone in a funk that you can’t seem to get out of, or you have noticed that you keep going around in circles within your personal relationships and are looking to step off the merry-go-round you seem to be trapped on. Or perhaps you feel frustrated or overwhelmed thinking about world events and not knowing what to do with that sense of injustice.
Whatever your concern may be, I will walk alongside you as you explore them. I will use my experience and knowledge to offer different perspectives, where needed, and use helpful models and practices to help you break out of unhelpful patterns.
If you are considering therapy, you are under no obligation to commit to any therapist straight away. I offer a free 15-minute consultation call either on the phone or on zoom so that you can get to know me and vice versa. If you are interested after this, I can send you further details and book in an assessment.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
