Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychotherapist, MBACP, MSc, MA

About me

Being a young person today brings unique challenges; whether it's academic stress, social media setting impossible standards, coming up against strict school behaviour policies, friendship challenges, online bullying, or identity questions. Or perhaps you're a young adult at college, university, or navigating the world of work. Having a safe space to process your feelings in the midst of it all can make a world of difference.

I was inspired to train as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist by my own experience of therapy as a teenager and young adult. I know firsthand that having support through this challenging time can be life changing. My aim is to equip children, teenagers and young adults with the skills and self-belief to help them thrive now and in the future.

How I Work

I use an integrative approach, meaning that I combine talking therapy with creative techniques and mindfulness. I find that creativity can unlock thoughts and feelings that are difficult to put into words. Taking a moment to breathe and get back in touch with our body in moments of distress can help us learn to regulate our emotions. With younger children, play is at the centre of the work.

I often hear from the young people I work with that what they value about our sessions is feeling truly heard. Meanwhile, young adults and parents typically report feeling less stressed or anxious after coming to therapy. Having the space to identify and understand our triggers can help us to break unhelpful patterns in our lives.

Who I Work With

I am specifically trained and experienced in working with children and adolescents of all ages (4+). However, I have a particular interest and expertise in working with adolescents (11+) and young adults (up to 25). I warmly welcome enquiries for children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. I adapt my approach to suit each developmental stage - whether through play, creativity, or conversation.

Some of the areas I support include:

  • Anxiety
  • ADHD
  • Low self-esteem
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression or low mood
  • Acute or developmental trauma
  • Stress and academic pressure
  • Perfectionism
  • Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
  • Friendship, family, or relationship difficulties
  • Parental separation or divorce
  • Difficulties with eating, sleeping, or self-care
  • Identity exploration (gender, sexuality, culture)
  • Trauma, loss, or significant life changes
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Inner child work

I also welcome enquiries from trainee child and adolescent counsellors and psychotherapists seeking personal therapy.

A Culturally Sensitive, Inclusive Approach

Unfortunately we live in a world that weaponises difference. In my practice, I recognise that every individual’s experience is shaped by their identity - whether that’s race, culture, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ identity, or family background. I offer culturally sensitive, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy and work with an awareness of intersectionality.

Before training to be a therapist, I lived and worked in the United States and Italy. I am experienced in working with expat communities and young people growing up with 'third culture' identities. I strongly believe that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. This is why I specifically chose to train as an Integrative Psychotherapist - giving me the flexibility to tailor my approach to each person's unique needs.

Parents & Carers: You’re Part of the Journey

While individual sessions are confidential, I work systemically, which means I collaborate with parents and carers of children and adolescents under 16. My stance is that parents are the experts on their own children, but together we will think about how best to support your child’s emotional wellbeing at home. Outside of my private practice, I work as a psychotherapist in schools. I have experience working in state, independent, international, and boarding school settings, across both primary and secondary levels. This gives me an in-depth understanding of the school system and, where appropriate, I liaise with school staff to ensure consistent, joined-up support around a young person.

I also offer Reflective Parenting sessions: dedicated space for you to pause, reflect, and respond with greater curiosity and compassion. These sessions can help shift patterns of conflict and strengthen your relationship with your child.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
