About me

Are you ready to talk about it? About who you really are and how you got here? How some of that might be holding you back? Have you experienced a crisis you are looking for support to get through?

My ultimate aim in providing psychotherapy and counselling is to develop a more solid, secure and confident core of you. This will enable you to meet current and future problems from a stronger, more resilient place. This can help you towards achieving your goals and finding your own contentment. What this looks like will be completely different for every person.

As well as talking; I offer creative methods including drawing, writing, movement and practical way to reduce stress in the body.

I specialise in working with how the past can affect the present because I believe many of our current issues, such as anxiety, relationship breakdown, lack of motivation, the absence of love and respect for ourselves; stem from the way we were treated and the things that happened to us and around us, because these thing shape what we expect and believe is possible.

We can't change the past but how we feel about ourselves because of it can change dramatically. This can result in greater ease with ourselves, being more comfortable and successful in our relationships and a reduction in feelings of shame and inadequacy.

In combination with working with the past, we also will look very practically at things we can do today to change the script.

If you’d like to find out more, we can arrange a 15-minute assessment call at no charge. This is an opportunity for you to see how comfortable you feel speaking with me and for me to ask some questions about what you’re looking for support with so I can ensure I’m best placed to meet your needs. If we discover there is anything going on for you that I’m not qualified to work with, I can recommend a specialist in that area.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
