About me

Human Centred Counselling

At times in life we can feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. You might be struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, self-esteem, or a general sense that something in your life isn’t quite right. Sometimes it can be difficult to talk about these things with people close to you.

I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard. My aim is to help you explore what’s going on for you, make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and begin to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I work one-to-one with adults and offer both in-person sessions in Leeds and online counselling via Microsoft Teams.

My approach is primarily person-centred. This means I won’t diagnose you or tell you what you should do. Instead, I work alongside you, supporting you as you explore your experiences at your own pace. I believe that when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted, meaningful change can begin to happen.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure about it. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Whatever brings you to counselling, I aim to offer a space where you can talk freely without pressure or judgement.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have also completed additional training on:

  • Working with Suicide
  • Journal Therapy
  • Polyvagal Theory
  • Pre-Trial Therapy
  • Male Psychology
  • Cyber Trauma
  • Working with ADHD
  • Self Compassion

Clients often describe me as grounded and easy to talk to. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, and I aim to make the process feel as approachable and safe as possible. I place great importance on the quality of the therapeutic relationship and work with integrity, compassion, and care.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
