About me

People have told me the most difficult aspect of beginning their therapy is finding a therapist they feel comfortable with. I will initially offer you a short contract in order for you to discover whether I'm the right therapist for you.

My clients sometimes tell me how scared or nervous they felt about beginning, and that maybe they searched for the courage for years before initial contact. I offer you a safe and warm, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your issues – I understand you may have anxiety and worries around the difficulties in change. A wise soul once said, "Therapist can't take client further than they are ready to go" - you are in control of your therapy.

I am an experienced BACP registered Relational Integrative Psychotherapist and Supervisor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy.

For over a decade, I have worked with various Charitable Organisations, Community Interest Companies, the NHS, as well as in Private Practice.

I have a particular interest in working with those who have experienced childhood trauma or abuse, particularly with individuals who have developed relationship or personality difficulties as a result.

As a Psychotherapist, I believe that when a client comes for counselling, they bring a particular problem to explore or resolve, when they come for psychotherapy, they bring their whole Self.

I also firmly believe that psychotherapy does not change WHO we are, but changes HOW we are in the world.

Practicing as an Integrative Psychotherapist means that the theories and modalities I utilise can vary. Being integrative also means that I use my whole Self; I may share my knowledge with you, my thoughts, feelings, and intuitions.

I look forward to hearing and seeing you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
