About me

I have significant experience over many years working as a professional in mental health, and as a psychotherapist and counsellor. I worked as a tutor and supervisor at The Minster Centre a psychotherapy training faculty and have extensive experience of working with adolescents, adults and families. I provide either short-term counselling or longer term psychotherapy depending on need.  I am currently working face to face, and also offer online sessions using the platform of Zoom.

Prior to obtaining a Diploma and MA in Integrative Psychotherapy I worked as a social worker, in the field of substance misuse, HIV, homelessness and child protection.

I have experience of working within the private sector, voluntary sector, the NHS and within education.   I worked for many years in a child and adolescent mental health team working with young people suffering from eating disorders, anxiety, depression and self-harming behaviours. I have a private practice in Kew, near Richmond, where I offer counselling, psychotherapy and supervision. There is street parking available, and good transport routes nearby.

How I Work
I offer short-term counselling focussing on a specific problem, such as a major life event, to open-ended psychotherapy, which is a deeper personal exploration. I aim to help people come to know and accept themselves, to find greater meaning within their life and relationships and to develop an improved sense of emotional wellbeing. I provide a safe, non judgemental environment, in which to explore difficult issues and I work closely with the therapeutic relationship that develops between us.

My work may pay attention to childhood experiences and significant relationships from the past. However it may also be helpful to focus on current concerns and relationships. I am trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist, which means that I apply different theoretical models to the way that I think and work, rather than using solely one model.
