Sara Barry BA(Hons)Registered MBACP
I am a Person Centred and Attachment Based Therapist and have been working with individuals both privately and in a corporate setting for over 17 years. My motivation is to provide a relationship whereby you can safely explore your inner world and become empowered to live a full and authentic life. I try to see the world through your eyes and perspective and place a strong emphasis on being client led. In other words, I am guided by you regarding the issues you want to explore and the pace of our work together. My aim is to help provide a safe environment to facilitate this and assist you to find clarity on the issues that arise.
I am aware that sharing your problems can feel quite daunting, particularly if its the first time, and I believe a good working relationship between counsellor and client is essential. My hope is that you will experience me as being genuine, sincere and accepting, and our first meeting will be an opportunity for us both to see how we relate to each other. I work in an open ended way, with no time limitations, or for an agreed time period if preferred.
Training, qualifications & experience
As well as my degree in Person Centred counselling I have a PG Diploma in Attachment Theory. I have many years experience of work place and crises counselling and through my ongoing work as a counsellor and supervisor within an international airline, have gained a thorough understanding of aviation psychology. I also design and facilitate courses in Counselling Skills, Empathy and Emotional Resilience, at a corporate or more individual level.
I work in a variety of settings, within an holistic therapy centre, from home and British Airways.
