About me
Welcome....My name is Sharon, I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Supervisor based in Macclesfield offering a warm, safe and professional counselling service to both individuals and couples. I offer a confidential environment in which you can explore any issue you may be experiencing without fear of judgement.
Each individual is unique and we all encounter things or times in our lives that we may struggle to deal with or understand. Sometimes we may think that our problem isn't important enough to seek help but if it is troubling you, creating anxiety or generally making you feel sad, then it is important. In working together, counselling can help you to find acceptance and understanding and to bring about the positive changes you may be looking for.
If you have any questions about either myself or counselling then please feel free to contact me or to visit my website at the address shown at the top of the page.
I believe that at the heart of counselling is the relationship between counsellor and client and so I offer a reduced fee for the first session which will give you the opportunity to see whether you feel you would like to work with me. The pace and frequency of further sessions up to you, after all, the counselling session is your space.
I offer both weekend and evening appointments.
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework for good practice. You can also find me on the BACP Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health & Social Care.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
