About me
Counselling can help us make sense of our past, present and future. It can move us on when we feel stuck in our lives, in understanding ourselves we may be able to understand those around us more and change the way we are, respond and live..
I am a freelance Accredited Counsellor and Play Therapist. I have been freelance since 2004. I see Adults, children and young people, also adoption counsellor trained by Barnardos Link. Also see Supervisors & Counsellors. Using Counselling and or Play Therapy. Available to work in private and school settings, C.R.B enhanced checked, M.B.A.C.P, P.T.UK / P.T.I, C.Y.C.P, A.C.C member, B.A.P.T associate. Associate Supervisor (A.P.A.C).
I have worked with people all of my working life. I work from home with individual clients and or I can work in a child's school if the school is willing. I use an Integrative Approach believing that one therapy doesn't fit all. I use what is needed at the time.
I work holistically believing that not one theory fits all, although my qualification experience is Psycho-dynamic Counselling and non-directive play therapy and Deep Release Counselling.
I started a career in Counselling as I enjoyed working with individuals in my last career and personal circumstances lead me into this new career change.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
