About me

Welcome, If you are looking for a warm, caring, professional counsellor, then you are in the right place.

Looking for a counsellor can be a difficult process, who do you trust with your feelings and concern's? I work with the Person Centred approach finding the right counsellor is important, building our relationship is fundamental to the counselling process and for you to get the most out of counselling. I can offer you a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space to explore issues or concerns that may be causing continued unease or distress.

Counselling is not about giving advice, but by working together you will gain support for emotional issues and problems.

I can also offer you CBT, using tools and techniques to help you move forward.

Many people seek counselling all for different reasons, usually because they want to feel better and it's normal for us to sometimes have issues and concerns in our daily lives, but  there are times when we need outside help to resolve them.

I am fully qualified, compassionate counsellor with over 1000, face to face client hours. I hold full insurance and an enhanced DBS.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and on the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists adhere to their ethical framework. Details can be found at www.bacp.co.uk

I am also an accredited member of The  National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.  (NCPS Accred)www.nationalcounsellingsociety.org

Next steps.
If you decide to contact me we can arrange your first appointment, sometimes it's useful to have an initial telephone chat, so please feel free to contact me.

In the first session, we go over the nature of counselling and confidentiality and I can answer any question you may have. We can then begin to explore your concerns and how we can best work together.

If all goes well and you are happy we can then book further sessions, which will be 50 minutes long and usually once a week.

I see clients in my private consulting room in Stanton, between Bury St Edmunds and Diss, Where confidentiality is assured and there is free private parking.

I also offer on line (zoom) and telephone counselling

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
