About me

I’m not taking new therapy referrals at present. I do have (limited) availability for supervision.

I am UKCP-registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor working with Adults.

I have worked to support a wide range of people through a variety of life issues. I am trained and experienced in working with depression, anxiety, anger management issues, relationship issues, bereavement, sexual abuse, workplace bullying, and general emotional problems. I am also qualified to support people with mental health diagnoses such as bipolar disorder and personality disorder.

I am experienced in helping people to deal with the after-effects of traumatic life experiences, whether these relate to one-off events or to difficulties which have run on over some time.

I am a qualified and experienced Couples' Psychotherapist. I provide couples therapy for those experiencing relationship issues, or for couples who are simply looking for ways to improve and strengthen their relationship and their experiences of being together.

My postgraduate research area relates to eating behaviours and the use of eating to manage difficult emotions. If you have difficulty managing your eating patterns or weight, I can work alongside you to explore the possible reasons behind this, provide strategies to help you change your thoughts, feelings and behaviours about food, and support any subsequent changes which you might decide to make.

I am a Certified Transactional Analyst. Some people find Transactional Analysis (TA) theory useful in helping to explain how we think, behave and feel. This can help when exploring painful issues and seeking to make changes.

I take an integrative approach and in addition to my training as a TA therapist, and Somatic Trauma Therapist I also draw on current research in psychology and utilise techniques from other therapeutic disciplines such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, and EMDR.

It would be my job to make sure that you feel supported and listened to in a non-judgemental way. I could be a neutral person in your life with whom you could discuss whatever you wished, without worrying about how that might impact me, whether I will take sides, or view you in a negative way.
