About me

I am a fully qualified, BACP Accredited Counsellor. I work with most insurers including BUPA and CiC.

Contrary to popular opinion, counselling does not have to last for months and years. Short-term counselling (up to 6 sessions) can help you, if your otherwise satisfactory life has been upset by a sudden change or an unexpected event, and you can’t get over it by yourself. Over the last 2 years I have successfully helped many clients to learn how to manage their anxiety in just 6 sessions. You can learn more about some of the techniques I am using by watching my TikTok videos at @astoreytherapist. I also talk about myself on Youtube at: https://youtu.be/hQHk6B1yZBk

I have many years experience working with conditions such as depression, anxiety and stress. Often, my clients have complex relationship issues, which they would like to solve through counselling.

Some of my clients are looking for ways to manage work stress better. Many years of working in corporate environment help me understand organisational dynamics and pressures of sometimes toxic work culture.

Additionally, I offer Anger Management, Weight Management counselling (for more information, please go to: www.annastorey-counselling.com/weight-management or find my book 10 Questions Diet on Amazon) and Bereavement Counselling.

I follow with great interest research and clinical trials on psychedelics assisted psychotherapy. For more information please refer to www.clerkenwellhealth.com or www.kcl.ac.uk

My counselling practice is based in Mayfair, 2 minutes walk from Bond street tube station. I also work in Thame, Oxfordshire.

I follow the BACP Code of Ethics.

Recently I have been taking part in a show on mental health, Mind Over Matter, which is telling stories of different people and the ways they cope with ups and downs of life. Watch it on youtube:

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
