About me
I am a fully qualified, BACP Accredited Counsellor.
Contrary to popular opinion, counselling does not have to last for months and years. Short-term counselling (up to 6 sessions) can help you, if your otherwise satisfactory life has been upset by a sudden change or an unexpected event, and you can’t get over it by yourself.
During Covid epidemic anxiety has been the main reason many of my clients have contacted me. Talking through what triggers your anxiety or panic attacks could help you manage it. We can also discuss vitamins & supplements and herbal remedies, that could greatly reduce anxiety, but that your GP might not have mentioned.
I have many years experience working with conditions such as depression, anxiety and stress. Often, my clients have complex relationship issues, which they would like to solve through counselling.
Maybe you are looking for "the One", but always seem to meet the "wrong" people? Some deep seated historical reasons might be holding you back.
Some of my clients are looking for ways to manage stress better and find learning Mindfulness technique useful. Many years of practicing yoga gave me insights into the way our body could store stress and allowed me to learn about benefits of Mindfulness and other meditation techniques.
Additionally, I offer Anger Management, Weight Management counselling (for more information, please go to: www.annastorey-counselling.com/weight-management or find my book 10 Questions Diet on Amazon) and Bereavement Counselling.
My counselling practice is based in Mayfair, 2 minutes walk from Bond street tube station.
I also work in Thame, Oxfordshire.
My experience includes working in both short and long term settings, such as for Mind, in secondary schools and for an international health clinic abroad. I volunteer for the Birth Trauma Association, helping new mothers suffering from post-natal depression.
In my previous career, I worked as an Account Executive at an international advertising agency and as a Marketing Executive for a multinational. This experience gives me an insight into work stress issues and organisational dynamics.
I follow the BACP Code of Ethics.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
