About me

You maybe feeling lonely, overwhelmed, stuck, anxious or stressed due to things that have happened in you life or our happening now.  Embarking on counselling sessions can enable you to work through your experiences and begin to understand your emotions and the  behaviours that have developed as a result.

I offer my clients time and space to explore and work through the difficulties and the related emotional impact they are experiencing in their lives.  I believe it is important for my clients to feel safe and secure and offer a non-judgemental, confidential, relaxed space to begin to form a professional relationship which enables them  to explore their lives.

Many of my adult clients have worked through relationship issues, anxiety, experience of abuse, bereavement and loss, anger management, work related issues, depression, stress and loneliness, child related issues, postnatal depression and menopausal issues.

I am an experienced children's counsellor working with children from age 5. I offer children a safe space to explore and understand what is going on for them and to work out their feelings through the medium of play, creativity and talking. I deal with issues such as, relationship difficulties, bereavement, anger management, bullying, dealing with divorcing parents, anxiety and low self-esteem.

What you can expect
Working in dedicated counselling rooms I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space in which my clients can explore their personal difficulties. I use a range of therapeutic interventions to work to the clients agenda. I work not only with the spoken language but use creative communication techniques to develop a deeper opportunity to explore the client's world and achieve a greater understanding of the difficulties and problems the client is facing. I think that the relationship between counsellor and client is paramount to useful therapeutic work being done. I am a member of the BACP adhering to its Ethical Framework.

Next Steps
Please feel free to contact me to ask any questions about the counselling I offer. You can then decide if you wish to book an initial consultation. During the initial consultation we will begin to explore what is happening for you, what your needs are and what expectations you have of counselling and I will take you through the way I work. Then we can decide whether counselling would be suitable for you and if so book ongoing counselling sessions for an agreed specified time.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have worked with a wide range of clients from age 5 through to 70.

I am CRB checked.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
