About me
What I offer:
Coming to counselling can feel like a big step, and I have a deep respect for anyone who makes that step. Yet counselling can really make a difference when things get tough. Feeling heard, understood, and genuinely accepted, helps.
I have over 15 yrs experience of offering therapeutic support and have worked as a counsellor and group therapist within the NHS for over ten years. I am committed to providing a safe, caring, ethical and professional relationship that keeps the needs of my clients central.
I am willing to walk alongside you, helping you identify, understand and address your difficulties. You may already know 'what's the matter', or you may just sense something's not right in your life. You may feel desperate, or you may simply want to explore who you are and who you aspire to be.
Whatever it is, we can find ways to actively work together, easing your distress and healing what hurts. We can figure out what suits you best in terms of time and commitment.
About Me:
I chose to focus my training on the person-centred approach to therapy which sits closely with my own experience and philosophy. That is, that we all have an innate tendency to thrive, to be the truest version of ourselves and live a rewarding and purposeful life.
Sometimes things ‘happen’ along the way that reduce or knock us off that path. They may relate to the past, our upbringing, our relationships in all their shapes and forms and other various life experiences. This can leave us feeling anxious and /or depressed, and engaging or adapting, in self-limiting ways of being in the world.
As a person-centred counsellor my aim is to create a nurturing space to explore what is happening in your life and how you feel about yourself and others. I am not here to judge, but to listen and really understand your world in your time and at your pace. I will be supporting you in accepting, and understanding yourself better, so that you can trust and value the person you are and live life more fully in the present.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
