About me
I am a accredited counsellor with over 25 years' experience working as a therapist in Horsham, Brighton and online. I believe it is a privilege to work with clients as a counsellor, I enjoy my work and am committed to providing high a standard of therapeutic support.
I am able to offer short and long term counselling to both individuals and couples. Currently I also offer a number of low-cost appointments.
Some people may spend a long time thinking about whether they want to start counselling, while for other people a life crisis, bereavement or relationship breakdown might prompt them to seek support. At times, life can be challenging or distressing, and it can be really hard to find solutions or a way forward from our problems.
Whether you want to explore past events, are worried about what the future might hold or want to solve current difficulties, counselling helps deal with issues that may cause emotional distress or that prevent you from living your life to its fullest. I offer my clients a safe and confidential service, drawing on many years of experience and am committed to providing a high standard of counselling care, focussed on and tailored to each individual.
I originally qualified as a Psychodynamic counsellor, however, through further professional development; I often call upon other counselling approaches. This way of working is referred to as Integrative counselling, which is a combination of counselling approaches used to best suit individual clients.
In addition, I am a qualified Relate couple counsellor and clinical supervisor. I am a member of, and was Accredited by, the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2005 and have full professional insurances.
Having worked for many years both in private practice and within organisations offering specialist counselling services, I have had experience of working with people who have used counselling to help them with a wide range of problems. These include: Anxiety, bereavement, disability, depression, abuse and abusive relationships, phobias, relationship breakdowns, obsessive thoughts/feelings and behaviours. This list is not exhaustive; there are many reasons why people choose to come to counselling.
My counselling practice is located in the centre of Horsham and the Seven Dials area in Brighton. All clinics are comfortable and easily accessible by public transport, and have on street parking.
From my experience, an initial meeting with a counsellor prior to starting counselling can be helpful in giving you an opportunity to think about whether they are someone you feel comfortable with. Whatever has led you to counselling, the relationship between yourself and the counsellor will be important to the success of your therapy.
If you would like to talk through your personal requirements or book an initial appointment, please contact me on 07719 911102 or email using the link at the top of the page.
Once you have decided that you want change something in your life, and are taking the step to look for a counsellor then you are already on the way to gaining a better understanding of yourself and to finding a happier and more fulfilling life.
I hope that the information on the Counselling Directory will assist you in making a decision about counselling and finding a counsellor.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
