About me
ABOUT ME AND HOW I WORK
My Personal Introduction may seem quite succinct. This is because I remember as a student that it was quite difficult to find the right counsellor for the course I was attending. I have been been working with student counsellors for ten years or more and familiar with most of the East Sussex courses. I offer a free session so that a student may decide if I am the right person to help them, this being so important to feel safe and comfortable with your counsellor.
In 2025 I trained with the Foundation for Infant Loss to learn how to help with the loss of a baby for whatever reason, and there are a lot. In many cases it a lonely time depending much on the attitudes of others. The feeling of emptiness is unimaginable. Again if you think you need help for the loss of a child, born or unborn, you are welcome to a free session to see if you will find it helpful. Also it's worth remembering that imaybe its not only Mum that's grieving, Dad, Siblings, Grandparents could be too. Do call me if you think I can help.
Now, me and how I work. The people I've helped sense my honesty and trust me to share what's troubling them knowing they will be heard empathically and without judgement. I believe in our uniqueness and that sometimes we need help to understand ourselves to get the best we can from our lives.
I gained a FdSc degree in Person Centred Counselling in 2008, after which I have gained from a diverse counselling setting, G.P. surgery, Macmillan Cancer patients and families, Mankind- male survivors of abuse, Gamcare - problem gambling addiction,

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I am married with a grown up family and grandchildren living in Horam, a village on the A267 Eastbourne/Tunbridge Wells road. My practice is just minutes from the main road offering a cosy, comfortable quiet room, ideal for relaxing and a Mindfulness session if required.
My work is enhanced my own life experiences, growing up and working in London later to Brighton I have knowledge of the aspects of city life. Several moves later in smaller towns and now a village have shown me other life styles.
There was a time when for various reasons my GP suggested counselling. I was amazed, after a couple of sessions i was so much better. How could this be! that was my introduction to counselling. Some time after that there was a family crisis and again the G.P. offered counselling which I gladly accepted. It wasn't the same counsellor and it was awful! I really tried 2 sessions but it just wasn't ok. I was very confused, again How could this be! And so the seed was sown, by chance I learnt of a 10 week Introduction to Counselling class and signed up.
And so I found the answer, the counsellor and client relationship is paramount. Feeling heard, understood, trusting and at ease, valued, safe is key. That is why the free session talking about anything is an ideal way of trusting you senses as to whether the counsellor is right for you. And its ok to say no, we're all different and not expected to get on with everyone.
That was the beginning, I went through the various levels and four years later gained my degree with Sussex University. The rest is history, working with so many people over the years has been an privilege. I'm still passionate about counselling, every one is different and I wouldn't dream of calling it a job.

Here's what a few people have said about how therapy has helped them.
......I was finding life difficult with my husband and so I found myself in despair. The sessions with Morine were really useful. She is a caring professional who listened to me and helped me explore ways to cope with daily life and reduce my own levels of stress. Life has its ups and downs but having a caring professional next to you for those difficult times is something I would strongly recommend to anybody going through a difficult time. Thanks a lot for your support Morine.

I am so happy to have experienced a lovely and genuine counsellor. Morine listened and understood everything I had to say, I felt like I could be completely honest with her and she gave me lots if encouragement and help to improve my way of thinking. I cannot thank her enough!

Thank you for your recent counselling sessions. When I first came to you I was anxious and depressed. Your reassuring personality immediately calmed me down and I felt able to speak to you about long standing issues. You guided me through as I revealed deep seated worries. You we're professional and skilful in helping me sort out my issues and priorities. You took me seriously but our sessions were always lightened by your wonderful sense of humour. You were so easy to talk to. Within minutes of meeting you I felt I could trust you and it was like talking to a good friend. I would recommend you without reservation to anyone who is anxious or depressed.
