About me

I am a qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Life Coach, trained in Mindfulness Meditation. With 27 years experience in counselling and empowerment, I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP, PGDip). I believe in accessing our potential in life asking for support when we need it. I offer a free 20 minute introductory call.   

I work with stress, anxiety, loss, grief, confidence and self -esteem. Also, goal setting, happiness and a holistic approach to well being. 

In addition to private practice I am an Affiliate Counsellor for Employee Assistance Programmes, am ICO registered and hold a Disclosure and Barring Certificate. 

I work online via Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Skype and WhatsApp and in person in Burntisland Fife in a spacious, comfortable environment. 

Counselling techniques include:

  • deep breathing, mindfulness meditation and guided visualisation
  • positive thinking and behaviours, coaching, goal setting 
  • a space to speak without judgemental 
  • holistic approach to well being for body, mind and soul

My counselling is available for men and women of 18 years upwards and I am experienced working with elderly clients. Concessions are available for those on low incomes and I work with Trainee Therapists. 

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling accredited by the BACP and University of East London and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP.

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Life Coach (CBT) , including Happiness Coaching and trained in Mindfulness Meditation. 

In addition to private practice I'm an Affiliate Counsellor for UK Wide Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPS) and have worked as a Counsellor for RedArc Nursing, Sugarman Health and Well Being, and Dover Counselling Centre. 

With over 27 years combined experience in counselling and empowerment roles, I worked for Macmillan Cancer Support and Mencap.

In addition to counselling, I've held strategic roles for public and private sector organisations, building and construction and Arts. I gained understanding of organisational psychology, dynamics and issues common to the modern work place, including stress and the need for well being at a personal and organisational level.

At Strathclyde University I gained a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Politics and Sociology.

The Psychosynthesis and Education Trust is a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and founding member of the European Federation of Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy (EFPP).

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
