Training, qualifications & experience

Having trained at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in London, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling accredited by the BACP and University of East London. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP.

In addition to private practice I have worked as a short term Counsellor for Employee and Assistance Programmes including RedArc Nursing, Sugarman Health and Well Being, Dover Counselling Centre and Empathy Counselling Service.

With over 26 years combined experience in counselling and empowerment roles, I also worked for the charities Macmillan Cancer Support and Mencap.

In addition to counselling, I've held strategic roles for public and private sector organisations including Social Services, building and construction, the arts and entertainment. In these roles I gained understanding of organisational psychology, dynamics and issues common to the modern work place, including stress and the need for well being at a personal and organisational level.

At Strathclyde University I gained a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Politics and Sociology.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
