About me

Hello, we are currently experiencing unusual times with uncertainty and change often shaping daily life. As always, its important to seek the support we need, also, gain tools and strategies that help with issues such as anxiety, stress, change, outlook and well being.

My approach to online counselling is solution focused, offering strategies to manage issues such anxiety, stress, grief and self esteem.  Strategies include breathing and guided meditation. Together we work in an empowering way giving space to challenges and issues, hopes and desires now and for the future. I offer counselling via Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp and Telephone.

I am a qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP, PGDip) and have over 26 years combined experience in counselling and empowerment.

Counselling is available for men and women of 16 years upwards and I am experienced working with elderly clients.

Techniques include:

  • relaxation, meditation and visualisation
  • exercises in positive thinking and behaviours
  • coaching and goal setting
  • holistic approach to well being for body, mind and soul

As a person and a Counsellor, I am a passionate believer in living our potential in life and embracing the journey of life and all it brings.

Training, qualifications & experience

Having trained at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in London, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling accredited by the BACP and University of East London. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP.

In addition to private practice I have had the opportunity to work as a short term Counsellor for employee and assistance programmes including RedArc Nursing, Sugarman Health and Well Being, the Dover Counselling Centre and Empathy Counselling Service. Also, I gained experience as a Counsellor with the UK charities Carers Trust and Teens and Todders.

With over 26 years combined experience in counselling and empowerment roles, I also worked for the charities Macmillan Cancer Support and Mencap.

In addition to counselling, I've held strategic and organisational roles for public and private sector organisations. This includes The National Audit Office, Social Services, building and construction, the arts and entertainment. In these roles I gained a core understanding of organisational psychology, dynamics and issues common to the modern work place such as stress, time constraint, pressure and the need for well being at a personal and organisational level. This experience continues to inform my counselling.

At Strathclyde University I gained a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Politics and Sociology.

The Psychosynthesis and Education Trust is a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and founding member of the European Federation of Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy (EFPP).

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
