Kate Foster - Individual, Couples Counselling and Supervision
I am an experienced qualified psychotherapist and counsellor and able to work with individuals and couples. I understand there are times in our life when we all experience some difficulty, feel overwhelmed and a sense of not knowing what to do.
COVID-19 - I am very aware that there will be an increase in anxiety as people try to gain some understanding and adjust to the new normal that we find ourselves in. There may be a feeling of isolation and anxiety about returning to a different way of life. I am able to provide video call or telephone counselling (as well as face to face when permitted) to work through any concerns that may arise for you. Sessions will be held in the same way on an agreed day and time. This can then remain the same or return to face to face once safe to do so.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space in which to explore your difficulties and current distress. I have considerable experience in treating individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, low self esteem, anger, relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss, addictions, emotional eating and all aspects of perinatal mental health including birth trauma.
I offer short and long term counselling and my training in psychotherapy enables me to work in depth with issues.
I have had many years experience as a health care professional (Registered Nurse, Midwife, Counsellor and Psychotherapist) enabling me to understand the complexity we experience in our lives and the importance of trusting relationships in which to explore ourselves and find new meaning.
I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is important and with this in mind I offer an initial consultation with no obligation to proceed further. In this session we explore your counselling needs enabling you to get a sense of whether I would be the right counsellor for you.
I offer flexibility of day and evening appointments and look forward to the opportunity to discuss your needs at this time and warmly welcome your enquiry.
My training and experience in couples counselling offers an approach which enables relationship issues to be explored in a space where difficulties can be addressed and resolved. I understand that relationship difficulties can bring about feelings of hopelessness, anger, depression and upset. Relationship issues may include affairs and betrayals, life changing events, stress, family issues, communication breakdown and loss of closeness. Couples counselling can reveal the core issues in relationship problems and change relationships to relieve distress.
