About me

No-one is perfect and sometimes we need to reach out to find someone that will give us the support we need, when we are looking for answers.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, one also trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR, my role is to provide a ‘safe space’ where you are free to explore your thoughts and feelings, at your own pace. I believe that through my attitude of honesty, understanding and valuing, you may become better able to accept all aspects of yourself.

My role is not one of expert, though I have training and experience. I believe you hold the answers to your dilemmas (that you're the expert on you). My aim then, is to offer you a set of attitudes and values which will allow us to find what you are looking for; helping you find the 'place' you want to be.

I counsel in Newport, my room being on the High Street (with ample parking nearby). It is a comfortable, peaceful environment. One wherein, I aim to offer a warm welcome. My service is confidential, supportive and professional, where your well-being is my utmost concern.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

If you have any questions, queries or would simply like to find out a little more about my service, I would be happy to answer any enquiries you may have. Please feel free to contact me via email or on the phone number provided.

Most of all I want to convey, that in coming to see me you will be valued and respected for who you are; free to explore your feelings, problems and thoughts without fear of judgement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
