Carolyn Levett, MBACP, (Accred) Counselling and Supervision
--- WELCOME TO MY PROFILE ........I believe............A "problem" is an opportunity for change---What we believe we can achieve --- We can make new choices until we find what does work --- (Sue Knight)
What I love most about engaging in this work is that I have witnessed courageous people making positive changes and I have seen healing taking place emotionally, physically and spiritually. .
Whether you are an individual or couple, I invite you to look at what I can offer you and warmly invite you to call me on 07747 742258 or send me an email if you believe I may be able to help you. Due to Covid19 restrictions I am able to offer you zoom, skype or telephone sessions only. Please see details of my fees and availability at the end of this profile. I am also offering reduced fees to all NHS workers
I qualified as an integrative humanistic Counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling in 2001 I am Accredited with the BACP and registered with the UKRCP. I also hold a certificate in Psychosynthesis Transpersonal Supervision and a certificate in Pastoral Supervision with APSE. I have completed many hours of further training in different models of therapeutic work which have enhanced my knowledge and experience.
I provide a warm, confidential and calming atmosphere in which you can share your problems and you do not have to commit yourself to a set number of weeks so it is entirely up to you how much counselling you think you might need.
It takes a lot of courage to step into the therapy room and it is natural to feel nervous about making the initial contact. I can assure you that most people find that within a few minutes of entering my therapy room, they feel less anxious and are pleased they have taken that step. I will help you to feel secure and relaxed.
I have experienced therapy personally and I know how anxious I was on attending my first appointment many years ago because I didn’t know what to expect. I soon settled in, and believe it was the best thing I have ever done, as it enabled me to change some difficult aspects of self and enhanced my life and relationships.
Counselling is often described as 'talking therapy' but if you experience just talking as difficult, then I can offer you other ways to work through your issues such as using imagery, visualisation or creative tools. I can also teach you how to listen to your body by using helpful relaxation techniques. All these can be extremely effective in the recovery and healing process.
THE COUNSELLING I OFFER CAN HELP YOU IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
To gain a clearer perspective on how to understand and manage your problems in a new and helpful way
To give you tools and strategies, that can help to manage your thoughts and feelings more effectively especially outside of sessions.
To grow in confidence and achieve your goals.
In a safe and confidential setting I can help you to work effectively through any problem that may be weighing you down. Allowing yourself 50 minutes each week just for you, without any other interruptions is so important.
I can help you explore with your partner any issues that may be causing you difficulty within your relationship. In a safe, confidential and non-judgemental setting we can look at how you communicate your thoughts and feelings to each other and if you choose, I can teach you effective communication styles that may help you. Couples have told me that through the counselling they received, they have been enabled to communicate more effectively with their partner after a few sessions which has helped them to work through their issues positively.

Participants are required to complete homework between sessions in the workbook provided. The cost is £315 per person
