About me

I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist who helps individuals and couples find better ways of coping with life’s difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self esteem and relationship issues. I can offer sessions during the day or evenings depending on your need, in a short time frame or longer term.

As an individual, integrative psychotherapist I am able to use a variety of approaches to help you. I can look at how your past may be affecting your current situation, as well as how your current thoughts, feelings and behaviors are keeping you stuck, using Cognitive Behaviorial Therapy (CBT). Talking to someone else who is outside your current situation can be very helpful in itself.

I am also an Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist (EFT) which is a very well-evidenced approach for working with couples. It has a very high success rate in helping couples feel better connected and more secure in their relationship. It looks underneath recurring negative cycles that play out day to day to find the real issues causing hurt so that each partner feels heard and understood and understands how to make the other partner feel valued and secure.

It is important it is to find a therapist that feels right for you and I am happy to answer any questions you may have, by phone or email, to help you decide.

Unlike many independent therapists I work with a team of experienced counsellors and psychotherapists at Re...root, an independent organisation that connects the best therapists with people seeking therapy in the heart of Richmond. The Re...root team includes therapists who specialise in family, couples, young people and children as well as individuals. So even if I am not the best match for you one of the team may be. You can call the Re...root office on 0208 9485980 or my mobile on 0794 1500155.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
