About me

If you are troubled or feeling stressed by what's happening in your life, please contact me to discuss making an initial appointment. You may find it really helpful to talk things through with a qualified professional, to find new ways of looking at your life and greater understanding about yourself and those around you. This can give you greater choice and the chance to improve how you feel.
I specialise in trauma and relationships (including sexual difficulties) - working with adults as individuals / partners / couples. A key area of my practice is working with trauma, PTSD, and Complex PTSD. I have taken specialist high-level training in these areas. The trauma can be from childhood, an accident or surgery or illness, of a sexual nature, or from a career in the military or uniformed services. Other are as of specific experience for me are disordered eating, survivors of sexual abuse and rape, addictive and compulsive behaviour, chronic illness, fertility / pregnancy problems.
Equine-facilitated sessions may also be helpful for you - to tap into non-verbal experiential ways of gaining insight into how you can increase your wellbeing and way of living. The equine work is available in person near Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
I also supervise counsellors, psychotherapists, traumatologists and coaches.
You may also be interested to hear about my coaching and corporate work. My first career was as a regional director in advertising, within the BBDO network. This background also supports my work as a coach with professionals and managers to enhance their communication skills and leadership style. For organisations, I design management development training and provide organisational development training where there may be issues with performance, conflict or managing change. Employers may bring me in as a coach or counsellor for employee assistance, for example when redundancy or personal issues are present.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
