About me

BACP Accredited Therapist.    BUPA recognised Therapist.

If you are experiencing difficulty and looking for someone to speak to I would love to speak with you. I know it is difficult when you are going through a challenging time even when you just start looking for somebody. I celebrate and salute the fact that you have taken the first step. I would love to speak with you if you feel that is appropriate and offer a free 30 minute session.

I work remotely in order to be as accessible as possible to those who may be experiencing difficulties and looking for someone to reach out to.   I use GoogleMeet and WhatsApp platforms but I am open to any preferences you may have.

I set out below a brief summary of how I view therapy and how I work:

I would be wrong to say absolutely that therapy will work for you or that it is right for everyone, but I do know that I have walked alongside many people over the last twenty years for whom it has made a significant difference - to themselves, their relationships, and how they live their lives.

I believe we are all on a journey towards health, and wholeness. The road to healing can often be difficult to navigate. Life challenges can result in many emotions, such as feelings of anger, depression, anxiety, and loss of control, but these same struggles can be opportunities for growth.   I will walk with you on your journey of self-discovery, and together we will uncover your unique strengths, develop coping skills, increase self-confidence, and work toward restoring balance in your life.

My therapeutic approach is integrative humanistic, which just means that I am trained in more than one approach. The strength of my approach rests on aiming towards a genuine, durable and trusting therapeutic relationship. Providing therapy in a safe and confidential environment, where you will be heard, not judged, nor told what to do. You can use therapy to help you think more clearly, make decisions or changes in your life or come to terms with difficult past or present experiences. You cannot always change your circumstances, but you may find easier ways of dealing with it.

I would welcome you to reach out and contact me. We can have a free 30 minute session to find out where you are.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
