Trusting the wisdom within: Listening to your body’s guidance
Have you ever had a moment when your body spoke to you before your mind could make sense of it? A deep knowing, a quiet nudge, a subtle pull that whispered, 'this feels right' or 'this isn’t for me?' Your intuition is always speaking, but in a world that moves fast and demands constant noise, it takes intention to truly hear it.

So often, we seek clarity outside of ourselves – through advice, validation, or overthinking – while the answers we long for live quietly within us, waiting to be heard. But to listen, we must slow down. We must create space to gently attune to the wisdom woven into our very being.
The body never lies
As Alice Miller said, “The body never lies.” Our bodies are always communicating. The tension in your shoulders, the flutter in your chest, the deep exhale of relief – each sensation is a message, an echo of your inner world. Yet, without awareness, these messages go unnoticed, drowned out by the rush of daily life or dismissed in favour of logic and reason.
Tuning into your felt sense – the deep, intuitive language of your body – is an invitation to reconnect with your own innate wisdom. When we pause, soften, and listen, we can begin to distinguish between fear and truth, between habitual patterns and authentic knowing. We start to recognise what feels like home in our body and what doesn’t.
Slowing down to hear your inner guidance
In my own journey, burnout was my body’s way of calling me back to myself. I had spent so long living from my survival strategies – my protector parts, my patterned ways of coping – rather than from my whole being. My body knew long before I did that something needed to change.
And so, I learned to slow down – not just in action, but in presence. To sit in inquiry rather than rush for answers. To soften my breath, feel the ground beneath me, and ask, What is my body saying right now?
When was the last time you gifted yourself true stillness? Not the stillness of scrolling or distraction, but the kind that invites you to meet yourself fully.
What happens when you close your eyes, place a hand over your heart, and ask, What do I need at this moment?
Where in your body do you feel the truth? Where do you feel resistance? Can you remember a moment when you felt a full yes in your body – an undeniable knowing that something was right? What did it feel like? And what about a full no – a deep inner signal of something not being right for you?
What would it be like to lead from this felt sense – to trust that your body already holds the answers you seek?
