Human oversight

Content across the Happiful websites is managed by the editorial team. All content is reviewed by the team before being published, ensuring human oversight is maintained at every step of the editorial process.

AI-generated writing 

We define AI-generative writing as a piece of writing that has been predominantly created using AI. These pieces have generally not been edited/fact-checked by a human, leaving them at risk of including incorrect or unhelpful information.

Fully AI-generated articles are not permitted on our sites. The editorial team will use their judgement along with AI-checking technology to determine the helpfulness of an article before publishing. They will offer feedback, supporting writers to utilise their experience and understanding of the subject matter to enhance overall quality.

AI-assistive technology

AI can be used in an assistive way when creating content. This may include offering ideas, spell-checking or structural suggestions. We do allow writers to use AI in this way, as long as the end product has been written, fact-checked and edited by the writer themselves.

Again, the editorial team will assess each article and will offer feedback where required.

Honesty and transparency

We are putting measures in place so writers can self-identify when their content has been created using AI. This will allow us to include a declaration if/when AI has been used in the creation of a piece of content to help readers be aware and feel more confident in what they’re reading.

The more we learn about AI, the more we see the landscape changing. We are aware that adaptability is important here and, as a company, we are dedicated to continuous learning within this field. We, therefore, reserve the right to change our AI content policy at any time.
