Supervision details
I have been a Clinical Supervisor for 15 years with 25 years of counselling, psychotherapy, service management and teaching experience. I am a retired EMDR Europe Clinical supervisor/Consultant and provide individual and group supervision for EMDR practitioners. I supervise work with Attachment and Inter-generational presentations. I offer individual, group and team supervision to those working in therapeutic contexts. My approach to supervision is integrative to reflect my counselling and psychotherapy training and practice. Clinicians interested in exploring supervision with me are invited to contact me to arrange an initial discussion to discuss their needs and in the process to assess whether we can work together effectively. Participation in clinical supervision as a therapist is essential to ensure continuing safe, ethical, effective and objective therapeutic care for clients. It is also essential for the continued well-being of the therapist. I believe it is essential for practitioners who are providing continuous emotional care for others to have access to their own resources for support. Supervision provides one of those sources and offers a place where the negative, worrying and emotionally disturbing aspects of therapeutic work can be explored and shared. It is also the place where otherwise confidential information and fears can be shared in the knowledge that the supervisory relationship is safe and trustworthy, clinically developmental whilst offering managerial oversight of client work. Supervision also offers a place where your good work is recognised, applauded and confirmed thus ensuring that you are able to work confidently with your clients. UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
