Further Details:
The abuse and exploitation of children and vulnerable adults is an issue that has become more prominent in recent years in terms of public awareness. It has also been increasingly reflected in the priorities of a wide range of organisations through the development of more effective responses. This is a critical issue for Counsellors and Psychotherapists which, if ignored can result in serious repercussions.
- What are the issues surrounding disclosure by children and vulnerable adults and confidentiality?
- How do we define our terms - who is a 'vulnerable adult'?
- Who do you report safeguarding matters to?
- What protocols do you have in place to protect yourself against false and malicious allegations?
All these topics and more will be discussed at a workshop led by Gerry Williams, Area Co-ordinator of Gosport Children’s Contact Centre (GosConCen).
Gerry is a qualified Counsellor and is a member of BACP, an accredited Appropriate Adult and has headed up GosConCen since 1999. He is also a qualified Mediator.
The workshop costs £45 payable in advance and runs 11.00-2.00. A certificate of 3 hours' CPD will be issued. Please contact enquiries@marplecrosscentre.co.uk for a booking form.
