What I can offer you;
I provide an affordable service offering a range of therapeutic options where together we can find the right help for you.
By offering a safe, confidential, professional and non judgmental environment, I believe we can find a way forward for you.
I'm an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); which basically means I've been through extensive, formal and recognised training.
Although I mainly work from a person centered approach and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I have training in several other approaches and therefore adapt the way I work to meet what ever your needs may be as I believe there is no one therapy fits all approach, So I offer a free consultation with this in mind.
I feel it is important to continue to personally develop the way I work and my understanding of new and already established theories so that I can continue to offer a versatile and fresh counselling service which includes;
- One to one counselling.
- Skype and telephone counselling
- A self Help fun coffee Morning
- Workshops and Groups
- counselling Supervision

An official associate of 'Many Minds' counselling agency (www.many-minds.co.uk).
Why did I became a counsellor?
Honestly, I became a counsellor somewhat by accident; after a varied career of being a barmaid, shop sales assistant, pre-school assistant among many jobs and volunteering in various roles for St John Ambulance I've always felt that everyone has the right to be heard no matter what their circumstances are or how their lives have turned out - so far!
I'd always wanted a career where I can interact with and help people on a daily basis with an idealisation of perhaps becoming a nurse or working within alternative medicines (homeopathy, reflexology, aromatherapy), but I chose to be a forces wife and so therefore put my career opportunities on hold for the luxury of living abroad and having my beautiful children.
After experiencing a few life events and relocating back to Somerset, I decided it was time to start on my career journey and by chance in 2008 with a last minute opportunity I started a counselling skills course - and very quickly realised that I felt really comfortable and could see a challenging yet happy career ahead of me - and I've loved every minute of my journey so far - not only because It's given me the time to take a good look at myself and iron out a few issues along the way and also to realise how therapy can be beneficial to not only large life changing trauma's but how by even looking at the smallest of niggles can have a big positive impact on your life and those around you. but ultimately because I've met so many wonderful people and been able to build relationships with them and have been privileged to see them grow from within.

Other Counselling Experience;
As well as my private practice; I have worked as a volunteer counsellor at a Drug and Alcohol residential rehabilitation centre working with the clients on a one to one basis, supporting their everyday needs and working with them within a group therapy setting.
There I received lots of support and in house training as well as professional training on substance misuse, mental health and the complexities of Addictive personality disorder as well as gaining much insight into addiction and it's affects.
I currently work part time as a Recovery worker for Turning Point which is an agency that supports people to overcome problems surrounding substance misuse whilst living in the community.
