About me

I understand asking for help can be difficult and contacting a therapist may feel scary.  That’s why from our first contact I aim to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your difficulties. Talking to a therapist can give you a different perspective on how you feel and how you relate to others.

What will happen during the session?
We’ll draw on your past and present to find new ways to move forward for the best future for you.  We can all get stuck in reacting in ways that are not always useful to our wellbeing.  Working with a psychotherapist brings insight into how we react, why we react in that way, and changing negative patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour.

I am fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, experienced in helping clients that:

  • Feel confused about their life’s direction.
  • Struggle to make or maintain relationships, or feel their relationship has reached a ‘stuck’ point.

  • Have negative thoughts and feelings about themselves and experience low self-esteem

  • Feel depressed, anxious and have suicidal feelings.

  • Have suffered a loss or bereavement.

  • Feel stressed, guilt, shame or lack motivation.

  • Experienced abuse (physical, sexual, emotional or financial) or trauma during their life.

  • Are or have been affected by work-related problems (stress, bullying).

  • Feel their life is in crisis or transition.

How do I work?
My therapeutic approach is Relational Transactional Analysis and my specialist interest is in how we communicate with other people and with ourselves. I draw on Berne’s Ego State Model of Parent, Adult, Child which can be applied to relationships, family dynamics, working relationships and the relationship we have with ourselves.

Who are my clients?
I work with individuals and couples. I work with clients long term or short term.  A lot of work done in a few sessions, however, many clients, having found therapy, and feeling the benefit of it, stay longer.

When and where do the sessions take place?
Sessions are weekly and are for 50 minutes. I work in three locations.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am a Transactional Analysist Psychotherapist and my particular interest is in communication.  Whether that is how you communicate with partners, friends, work colleagues or the communication you have with yourself.  I will guide you through TA models that give insight into the ways we communicate, and help you explore how you communicate and how you receive communications from others.
