About me
Hi, I'm Nina.
I offer remote therapy you can access from home or work.
I also offer coaching, which is for parents and educators wanting guidance on supporting neurodivergent children or students - for example, gifted kids, or those with PDA, ADHD, or autism; or young people wanting to understand themselves better.
Sessions are available via:
- Video or audio for a traditional experience
- SMS for live written conversations
- Email for lower sensory demand or flexible timing
I have training and extensive experience in working with neurodivergence (suspected or diagnosed), as well as routinely working with other areas of identity and belonging, including:
- Mixed culture or expat/immigrant life
- Gender, sexual, and relationship diversity
- Grief, bereavement, and loss
- Twin relationships and estrangement
I bring lived experience as a neurodivergent person (I have ADHD and am 2E) from a mixed-culture, neurodivergent family, with openness around sexuality and relationships.
The quickest way to get hold of me with questions or to book a free introductory session (or begin therapy), is to contact me at nina@ninekeys.co.uk or drop me an SMS via WhatsApp: +46 764 311 318.
You can also find free resources and tips on my YouTube channel, The Rambling Counsellor - supporting parents, educators, and families navigating neurodivergent life.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have 30 years of experience within mental health and wellbeing. I have worked in private practice since 2010, and have been based in Stockholm since 2021, from where I continue to work online with UK-based clients and British expats around the world.
I hold a BSc in Psychology from Manchester University. During my studies I obtained training and experience of working with neurodivergence, and I have ADHD and am gifted myself. I was also brought up in, and now live in, a wholly neurodivergent household (ADHD, autism, giftedness, ARFID).
I am an accredited Gestalt Counsellor and trained at the Gestalt Centre in Old Street, London. I have obtained additional training and experience in issues such as anger, bereavement, GSRD, neurodivergence including ADHD and autism, racial and cultural identity, and women and mental health.
I am fully trained and experienced in working via:
- Video and telephone counselling
- Email and real-time SMS
I often incorporate creative techniques if appropriate to my clients including movement, meditation, visualisation, mindfulness practices and therapeutic writing such as journalling and freefall writing.
Growing up as a child of mixed culture and of mixed religions, from a family with strong neurodivergent minds, my focus is on working with those who may struggle to find their place of belonging in the world, and strive to find a way to live a life where they can truly be themselves.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
Because of my own cultural background I have a particular interest in the impact of difference, whether cultural, relating to faith and belief, or individual e.g. neurodivergence such as autism/ADHD, mental health problems, GSRD, physical difference.
I work with what arises from feeling different or misunderstood, and the impact on life direction this can have. For example, when it leads to feelings of anger, anxiety, depression, helplessness or lack of purpose.
I also work with issues relating to life transition points, and their impact on relationships with self and others. These transitions might include:
- Identity, life choices, and life transitions, for example:
- Confusion around your gender or sexual identity
- Becoming an adult
- Marriage, pregnancy or becoming a parent
- Coping with age-related changes, including menopause and andropause (‘male menopause’)
- Relationship breakdown, including infidelity or jealousy
- Coping with issues relating to start and end of life:
- Conception and pregnancy
- Dying and death
- Loss of faith or uncertainty surrounding personal beliefs.
These transitions can result in existential crisis. This is where everything you once assumed or expected in life, has been lost. You may feel uncertain or afraid. You no longer feel able to predict or assure your future. You may be wondering, what is my purpose?
