Supervision details
The excellent supervision which I have had over my many years in practice in the NHS and privately, really has enabled me to develop myself and my work in a way that keeps patients safe and keeps curiosity alive. Keeping curiosity alive, thinking together about what is being brought to the sessions and to the client-therapist relationship, pin pointing and discussing relevant theoretical approaches have all been important to me in my learning. My training in supervision/coaching/mentoring has been through the Royal college of Occupational therapists and I have many years experience of supervising students in mental health settings through training at degree and MA level. I am experienced (10 years) in clinical supervision of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I endeavour to build a supervisory relationship which is supportive, mutually open, respectful and which fosters trust. My practice is mainly clinical but I do currently have some places available for supervisees. My fee per session is £60-£65, with some concession to those on lower income.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
