Supervision details

Hi, I’m Em

I'm a qualified integrative supervisor, passionate about supporting therapists at all stages of their careers. My approach is grounded in compassion and collaboration, focusing on your personal and professional growth. I am trained in multiple modalities and have significant lecturing experience that may benefit trainees working through their qualifications.

Supervision

I'm here to provide guidance, encouragement, and support as you navigate the complexities of your therapeutic work. Whether you're a trainee, a seasoned practitioner, or even a qualified supervisor, I'll work alongside you to enhance your skills, maintain high standards of care, and increase your confidence in offering quality support to your clients. I also place great value on the importance of managing your self-care and nurturing your self-compassion to avoid compassion fatigue and burnout.

My Approach

My approach is grounded in the compassionate humanistic perspective, emphasising the importance of building a strong, supportive and collaborative relationship. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring your experiences and thoughts. I'm committed to providing a confidential environment where you can learn, grow, and find solutions.

My Commitment to Supervision

Strong Working Relationships: I  prioritise building trusting and collaborative relationships with our supervisees.

Personalised Support: Our sessions are tailored to your unique circumstances and goals.

Ethical Practice:  I adhere to the highest ethical standards, ensuring your well-being is always at the forefront.

Continuous Development: I am dedicated to ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest approaches and techniques.

If you feel you would like to explore working with me, I offer a free exploratory call or Zoom where we can discuss your needs and requirements further - please drop me a message and I'd be happy to arrange a convenient time to talk.

Supervisee Feedback

"Em has provided me with clinical supervision since November 2023 and her support is superb. She strikes a fantastic balance when drawing on theoretical knowledge and practical experience, every session is an education. Em is passionate about the counselling provision and about people and their stories, so she shows genuine care and concern not only for how I perform my role but for me as an individual. Put simply, Em's supervision brings out the best in me!"

"Emma is always on hand to support me, with her wealth of knowledge and expertise she uses this to offer me support and guidance for my client queries. Emma offers honest and supportive supervision"

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
