Supervision details

Introductions
Hello there, my name is Michelle Westgarth, and I am a BACP Accredited, Integrative Therapist and Clinical Supervisor in Private Practice. In previous years, I worked as a Tutor for online counselling college courses, supporting new therapists in practice. I work full-time with adult clients from my office in Northampton.

Who do you offer supervision to?
I welcome therapists in training, newly qualified, or experienced practitioners who are working with adult clients. Unfortunately, I am unable to supervise Children and Young People or Couples work.

What will we do in Supervision?
Whether you are looking to maintain and deepen your practice or to grow in confidence and skill, together, we would collaboratively explore your clinical work, consider ethical decision-making, and discuss any challenges or uncertainties that may arise, as well as what is working well for you and your clients. Additionally, I place importance on your wellbeing as a practitioner, recognising that supporting others can sometimes feel demanding, and that supervision should be a space for you to be supported too.

What approaches do you use?
My approach is grounded in my Level 7 integrative training (Person-Centred, CBT, Creative Therapies, and Psychodynamic practice). I hold an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision and work using the 7-Eyed Model, ensuring a meaningful reflection of practice.

What are your qualifications?:
Counselling MSc (Level 7)
Social Work BA Hons (Level 6)
Child Psychology Diploma (Level 4)
Understanding Principles and Practices of Assessment (Level 3)
Psychology (Level 3)
Safeguarding Adults (Level 2)
Safeguarding Children (Level 2)
Certificate in Trauma-Informed Counselling Practice
Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
First Aid Trained (Validity: Dec 2024- Dec 2027)
BACP Accreditation (Awarded Sept 2025)
Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision (Awarded March 2026)
On-going CPD achievements

How Do You Deliver Supervision?
I am pleased to be able to offer supervision in person at my office in Northampton (NN4), online, and via the telephone, giving supervisees flexibility and choice.

My way of relating:
My style is relational, compassionate, and grounded in collaboration. I believe supervision works best when it feels like a genuine professional relationship, without judgment, that is built on honesty and transparency. As supervision is in the service of clients, it's important that you feel comfortable with and confident in your supervisor so you can get the most from sessions. Therefore, I think it is important to commit to reviewing our work together every 6 months to ensure you are getting what you need from the supervisory process.

What days and times do you work?
I work Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM- 6:00 PM.

What are your fees?
Session fees are £60 for 1 hour and £80 for 1.5 hours. Concessionary rates available for Trainee Counsellors- please contact to discuss.

Accessibility:
Accessibility should not be a barrier to therapy or supervision. My practice offers ample parking, step-free access, a portable hearing loop, low-level lighting, is assistance dog friendly and provides toilet facilities with a grab rail and a raised toilet. There’s always room to improve and expand accessibility, so if you have additional access needs that you would like to discuss, please do get in touch.

Do you have a website?
Further information about me and my practice can be found on my website at: https://woottonwellness.co.uk/

Best wishes
Thank you for taking the time to read through this profile. I welcome your call, text, or email and hope to be of help to you in your practice. But should our paths not cross again from here, I wish you all the very best in your supervisory journey.

With warmest regards,
Michelle

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
