Supervision details

I hold a Certificate in Clinical Supervision from the Metanoia Institute. My approach to supervision reflects my own training as an integrative psychotherapist and is informed particularly by relational psychoanalysis, Lacanian theory and hermeneutic phenomenology.

I aim to offer a supportive and thoughtful space where supervisees can speak openly about their clinical work, including moments of uncertainty, difficulty or stuckness. Supervision, for me, is a place to be curious about what is happening in the work without assuming there is a single 'right' answer.

I pay particular attention to the therapeutic relationship and to the conscious and unconscious dynamics that develop between therapist and patient, as well as to the wider relational context of the work. I am interested in how the therapist may be drawn into or affected by the clinical process, and in what their own responses might help us understand about the work.

I do not see supervision as a matter of providing ready-made answers or prescribing a particular way of practising. It is an opportunity to think together, consider different ways of understanding the clinical material and allow new perspectives to emerge. I hope to support supervisees in becoming more confident in their own clinical judgement while developing a way of working that is thoughtful, grounded and recognisably their own.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
