Supervision details
Supervision should be personal and bespoke so I am sharing to give you a better idea of who I am and what you might expect from working with me as a supervisor.
I qualifed as a Counsellor in 2016/17 (CPCAB TCL4) and was trained in a purely person centred way, I have stuck with this model of counselling throughout my career. Working for YMCA I gained experience with diverse client groups (16 years and over) and completed CPD around substance misuse, trauma, CSE, Safeguarding, Pre-Trial therapy, dissocia5on, suicide and self harm. I have maintained BACP membership and am accredited with them.Alongside my work as a therapist and clinical lead at YMCA I also delivered CPCAB Levels 2,3 and 4 training so I am very familiar with students, learning and placements from being a placement provider and tutor.
More recently I have moved into work as a private therapist and supervisor alongside managing a Counselling Team for a small charity. I have worked for an NHS IAPT provider, I am IAPT modality trained as a CfD High Intensity Therapist so have knowledge and understanding of working in charity, NHS and private sectors.
I have completed training around Autism and Neurodivergence, using minimum data sets and I continue to expand my CPD in line with BACP guidance.Within my private practice I work with a cross section of folks and aim to be as inclusive as possible, I have completed training around working with LGBTQIA+ people, kink and polyamory. I am also a member of these communites, a parent and Neurodivergent person.
Working online, telephone and in person allows me to reach out to more people in more areas and this is similar with supervision, I am based in Burton on Trent but am happy to work with people across the UK. My approach to supervision is that it must fit your needs as a therapist, I am trained in various supervision models and we can discuss what might best suit you and your area of work. The hope being that we collaboratively find a way to work which leaves you nourished and fulfilled with enough room to discuss everything from clients to selfcare and all that is in between.
Trust is important in this process and I want to understand who you are as a therapist and a person so we can start to build a relationship of mutual respect and trust.Learning and growth is key to well rounded development as a practitioner, some of this will come from facilitated exploration of issues clients bring to Counselling work (in supervision) and some of it will come from CPD and your own research and openness to self awareness (potentially in personal therapy). Supervision is a unique space which can highlight areas for your continued growth at whatever stage you are in your counselling journey whether that might be a focus on reassurance and holding as you start out or inviting challenge or new areas of focus as an experienced therapist.
I am very open to questions and encourage feedback to make our work effective, I offer a free introductory call for this purpose.
Fees are £60 per hour.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
