Supervision details
I have a long experience of providing Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy supervision to a wide variety of colleagues, including Child Psychotherapists, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Trainees undertaking their Doctoral Training, Counsellors, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists in Specialist Training, Clinical Psychologists and Mental Health professionals. As a supervisor, I draw from my extensive clinical work, my teaching experience and my training in intensive clinical supervision.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is crucial for gaining an in-depth understanding of complex emotional and mental health difficulties. I offer a space in which the most challenging clinical material and Risk can be explored, contained and managed. This can have a positive result by strengthening professional resilience and capacity and enabling fulfilment of professional potential.
As part of my practice, I also offer consultations to a wide range of colleagues in education and social care, including headteachers & teachers, social workers, staff at social care residential homes, and foster carers. During our consultations we reflect on how to best meet the emotional needs of the children and young people under their care.
The ACP is the registering body for NHS trained Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists.
