Supervision details
Me as a Supervisor
I qualified as a supervisor in July 2025 having completed a level 6 course at the Devon Counselling College.
I thoroughly enjoy being a supervisor and my approach is warm, supportive and down-to-earth, while still maintaining the professionalism, ethics and boundaries essential within supervision.
I work collaboratively, weaving in mentoring and educational elements where helpful, and I’m always happy to support supervisees in developing confidence within their practice, having run a succesful counselling service for seven years, including co-ordinating trainee counsellor placements, prior to moving in to the small, home based practice I now have.
I use different models in my approach but mostly the seven eyed model by Hawkins & Shohet as I feel this provides me with a good framework to be able to explore my supervisee's practice and support as needed.
My counselling work involves all ages but I have a specialism of working with Young People with a further niche in Exam stress & anxiety.
What I offer & costs
I offer in-person in Ivybridge or online one to one sessions and can also arrange outdoor sessions at a local park. I also offer group supervision - see below.
The cost is £50 per hour and £65 for 1.5 hours. If you also attend one of my supervision groups the cost for 1.5 hours of one to one supervision is discounted to £50. I also offer a discounted rate of £40 per hour and £52 for 1.5 hrs to trainee and newly qualified counsellors.
Group supervision
I offer group supervision either in-person or online which runs once a month with a maximum of four supervisees. This means that you can then claim half the time for your monthly supervision requirements. For more information about how my group supervision sessions work, please email me for an information sheet. I am also more than happy to run closed group sessions for your friends/colleagues or other agencies and companies so please get in touch if you are a business looking to provide this to your employees.
Wellbeing Groups for counsellors
Throughout the year I run in-person wellbeing groups for counsellors to join, be creative, network and find community and connection and offer these on a fixed time monthly group or one-off 2-3 hour workshops. Please see my website for what's available or coming up.
If any of the above sounds interesting then get in touch and I can send more information or we can have a chat about what you're looking for and take it from there. Please also take a look at my website for more info, www.kerryjamestherapy.com
Thank you :)
