Supervision details
Counsellors & therapists often feel they have to draw a clear line between work and their personal needs. However, like it or not, our clinical work and professional set up have a real impact on our personal lives. As such, my supervision practice is three-fold. I offer:
- A creative space for you to reflect on your clinical work;
- A drawing board to create a clear vision of your career;
- Practical support on how to achieve a financially and emotionally sustainable practice.
With a professional diploma in integrative supervision, I am trained in the cyclical model and 7 eyed model. Creative exercises in supervision offer a space for us to explore our reflections on interactions with clients intuitively. This may generate insights that were obscure in pure verbal discussions.
I am passionate about helping you to create a clear vision of how you want to shape your career and how it supports you to live the life you want. This may involve drawing some short term goals, like completing a certain training that will offer further clinical insight, as well as long term goals, like being able to make a living on a 3-day caseload.
As someone who's set up my private practice from scratch, I know it takes much more than a clinically capable therapist to run a business. I've learnt my way through many trials & errors and wished someone could support me practically when I set up my practice. Now that I'm in the position of supporting others, I am always open to sharing the practical skills I've learnt along the way with you!
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
