Supervision details

Welcome

My name is Stella and I am an integrative supervisor supporting fellow practitioners for 8+years.

What is your new endeavour ?

How would you like me to support you?

You might be starting your first clinical placement and looking for an external supervisor. You might be a newly qualified counsellor launching their own practice. You might be an experienced practitioner wanting to work with children and young people. You might be new to working therapeutically online. You might just want to try a different clinical space.

Whatever brings you here, you are most welcome. I am keen to meet you and explore with you what are your learning needs and your professional goals.

My clinical approach

My clinical modality is integrative, with a modern psychodynamic foundation and a strong person-centred ethos. Having worked therapeutically with children and young people for more than a decade, I have picked up techniques from play therapy and drama therapy, which is also evident in my supervisory practice.

I have experience supervising both long term and short-term clinical work. My latest role included working in a big multidisciplinary team. As such, I have experience supporting counsellors who practice under the umbrella of an organization/ institution and I can support you through complex organizational dynamics and ethical dilemmas.

As a BACP registered member I fully abide by the BACP Ethical Framework. I am also fully trained as counselling supervisor ( L7- Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision)

As a supervisor, my clinical approach is informed by the Functional Model (Inskipp&Proctor). In simple words, I strive to offer to my supervisees a safe and collaborative place that is restorative, formative and normative.

Though I am well grounded in my clinical experience and training, I feel secure enough to think outside of the box and work with you to support you meet practice standards and personal clinical goals.

What happens next?

We can meet for a low cost first meeting to discuss your supervisory requirements and decide whether we can be a good professional fit. Following that, each supervisory session is £70 per hour (or £105 per 1.5 hour). I offer a discounted rate to students.

If you are a trainee counsellor, it might be helpful for you to bring any supervisory contracts or relevant documents that need to be filled for the purpose of your training.

I work mainly via secure webcam platforms (Zoom& Microsoft Teams) but I have a small space for in person appointments in Basingstoke town centre.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
