Supervision details
Hi, I am Juliet. Welcome!
I appreciate you may be reading through many profiles in search of the right Supervisor for you and your practice. In support of that, here is a little about my approach and what I can offer you.....
As your Supervisor, I will work with you in a collaborative way with a friendly, warm, supportive yet highly professional approach.
A trusting Supervisor/Supervisee relationship is key to you feeling safe and held in your work and in service of your clients. It is important that my Supervisees feel they are able to share their worries, concerns, successes and stresses with me and feel really supported as they ride the rollercoaster of highs and lows our profession can bring on a daily basis.
Together we will work in the best interests of your clients - which also means working in the best interests of you. The ethical framework is our boundary and the safety and wellbeing of your clients will always be our primary focus.
You matter too! To feel enjoyment and satisfaction in your work is so important and I would hope that by working with me you would always feel you have someone to speak to if you need help, guidance or just a chat.
We will also explore your own professional interests, learning, CPD etc and I will support you wherever possible in your professional development.
Having previously worked with Mind and a local Hospice, I have been running my own Private Practice for nearly 4 years now. Prior to my role as a counsellor I ran my own business for 15 years teaching Pilates, so running a business, working independently and with the responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of others is something that sits very comfortably with me now. This is the very reason why I value supporting other therapists at the early - mid stages of their careers. I may not always have all the answers for you, but I'd work with you and together we'd find it out or work it out.
I am a Certified Trauma Informed Counsellor & Supervisor with a special interest in Bereavement & Loss. Supporting my clients in understanding the connection between mind and body is also a powerful tool in the therapy room and I find, through my own learning, and learning from others/each other that the clients really benefit from understanding there may be a connection between their emotional and physical pain. You may have a similar approach in your practice or wish to learn more.
Please do feel free to contact me to arrange a 30 minute telephone or Zoom meeting to see how we might feel about working together. I'd love to hear from you.
Warm Wishes
Juliet
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
