Supervision details

Hello and a warm welcome to my profile!

My name is Megan (she/her) and I’m a qualified (MBACP) person-centred experiential psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor based in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. I have experience working with a wide range of clients, supporting them through difficult life events and personal circumstances, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, sexuality, gender, and relationship issues.

My main area of expertise is supporting those who have experienced complex trauma, helping them to work through the long-term physical, emotional, and mental effects that can follow prolonged or repeated trauma. I also have experience working closely with neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism, ADHD, dyscalculia, and dyslexia, as well as with people navigating crisis points such as suicidal ideation, intent, and self-harm. I bring a wide range of experience from my previous work within the third sector and now work in private practice full time.

My Approach to Supervision:

As a clinical supervisor, I work collaboratively and from a relational framework, aiming to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and non-judgemental. My practice is informed by both the Seven-Eyed Model and the Integrative Developmental Framework (IDF), which offer flexible structures to support reflection, growth, and the development of confidence at different stages of a practitioner’s journey.

As a neurodivergent counsellor, I bring lived experience and a deep awareness of the many ways people process, relate, and learn. I am committed to creating inclusive, accessible, and engaging spaces — both in therapy and supervision, that are affirming of all identities, regardless of sexuality, gender, or background. Depending on what feels most useful, supervision might involve taking sessions outdoors to move or be in nature or using a whiteboard to create a visual of our meeting that highlights important points for reflection, actionable steps, and topics to revisit between sessions.

Where and How I work:

I’m based in West Dunbartonshire and also work in the Southside of Glasgow two days a week, with sessions available in-person, outdoors, or online.

Get in touch:

I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to ask any questions you may have and see if we feel like a good fit to work together. I warmly welcome you to reach out via email at: megancassonpsychotherapy@gmail.com.

I look forward to hearing from you!

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
