Supervision details

I offer One To One Supervision Online and charge £35 for an hour.

My training looked at the seven eyed model and I use this approach to help you thoroughly explore your relationships with your clients so that you have a better insight of what is going on in your counselling room.

Why Choose Me?

I am dedicated to helping you become the best counsellor you can be.

I am a friendly and relaxed person and I pride myself on being down to earth and approachable. I love being a counsellor but also understand the pitfalls and difficulties that this career can involve. I started counselling because counselling helped me believe in myself and my practice is about helping clients to believe in themselves and what they can achieve.

I believe that my skills, knowledge and experience can help you to build confidence in your abilities so you too can believe in your abilities and reach your full potential as a counsellor.

Please get in touch if you'd like to arrange a supervision session. I look forward to hearing from you!

About me:

  • I am a Registered BACP Member, currently applying for Accreditation.
I am a Qualified Integrative Counsellor: My training was person- centre focussed but also covered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic approaches.
  •  I have several years of experience working with Trauma: I started working in Victim Support in 2018 and qualified as a counsellor in 2021. My placement hours were with Someone Cares, a charity supporting Survivors of abuse and since qualifying I have worked as a counsellor for Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland.
  • I have developed a strong knowledge in managing Safeguarding issues. I am confident in my ability to manage risk both working in employment and independently for my own private practice.
  •  Alongside employed work, I have set up my own private practice working in person and online. By sharing my learning, I can help you on your journey to set up and develop your own private practice.

What I Offer:

  • Regular Online Supervision: I know how important supervision is in helping you to navigate what is going on for you in your practice and I can offer regular support to help you feel you are not alone.
  • Skill Development: I can share my knowledge and perspective to help you to enhance your counselling techniques and build confidence in your abilities. I can support you whether you are an experienced counsellor or are newly qualified to explore new avenues and work out what parts of counselling you would like to look into further.
  • Safeguarding Advice: I will help you to manage safeguarding issues as they arise with your clients. I understand the risks that can be involved in working with individuals and will work with you to ensure you feel that both you and your clients are safe.
  • Criminal Justice Processes: Having previously worked for Victim Support and now working for Rape Crisis, I have a good understanding of pre-trial therapy and what this entails. I can help you to feel confident working with clients who are involved with the criminal justice system.
  • Self-Care Strategies: While supervision is largely about client work, I have often found think supervision useful when it has helped me to learn about myself. I offer my time to also help you look at and understand more about your needs and help you to  maintain your own well-being. As they say "you can't pour from an empty cup", I think this is such an important element of supervision.
  • Professional Growth: I believe that my approach will help you to feel supported to get what you need from our sessions to help you put the steps in place to achieve your career aspirations.
BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
