Supervision details

My supervision approach:

I am a qualified clinical supervisor, counsellor and counselling tutor, offering a warm, supportive and reflective space for students and new qualified counsellors.

I understand that developing as a counsellor can be both rewarding and challenging. Whether you're beginning your placement, navigating your first client relationships or taking the first steps into building a business, it is natural to experience moments of uncertainty and self-doubt along the way.

I believe supervision should be a space where you feel comfortable bringing all aspects of your client work, including the moments when things haven't quite gone to plan, when you are unsure of your next steps, want some time to reflect on your experiences or celebrate your successes.

My approach is relational, collaborative and gently challenging. I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel heard and encouraged, whilst also helping greater self-awareness, confidence and trust in your own abilities.

Alongside my practice I have several years experience of teaching counselling up to Level 4 Diploma. This has given me a particular understanding of the personal and professional challenges that can arise throughout training and during the transition from student to qualified counsellor.

My practice is informed by the Cyclical Model and Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, allowing us to explore different aspects of your work.

I aim to create a space where you can be yourself, ask questions and develop at your own pace, without feeling judged or that you need to 'get it right'.

I currently work online via Zoom and provide discounted rates for counsellors in training. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss fees and availability.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
