Supervision details
As a counselling supervisor, I am dedicated to providing high-quality supervision and support that empowers trainee counsellors to reach their full potential as ethical, competent, and compassionate practitioners. My approach to supervision emphasizes a collaborative and reflective process, aiming to foster the growth and competence of supervisees while ensuring ethical and effective counselling practice.
My supervision approach is integrative, drawing from various theoretical orientations and evidence-based practices to tailor supervision to the unique needs of each supervisee. I prioritize creating a supportive and non-judgmental supervisory environment where supervisees feel empowered to explore challenges and seek feedback. I use the Seven-Eyed Model, this model is about inviting a diversity of views and perspectives. It combines both the psychodynamic as well as systems understanding of how things connect.
I have experience working with both young people (13 years +) and adults, covering a wide range of issues such as abuse, anxiety, attachment issues, bereavement, borderline personality disorder, bullying, depression, loneliness, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, mental health issues, relationships, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
I am an inclusive counsellor, which means I work with everyone, including clients that are neurodiverse, sexuality and gender diverse, and from different racial backgrounds.
I offer in-person (Cambridgeshire) and online supervision (nationwide), working individually and with groups.
Supervision Focus Areas
Clinical Competence: Assessing and enhancing supervisees' clinical skills and therapeutic effectiveness in working with clients across diverse populations and presenting concerns.
Case Conceptualization: Facilitating the development of supervisees' ability to formulate clear and comprehensive case conceptualizations, integrating theoretical frameworks, and considering contextual factors.
Professional Identity: Supporting supervisees in exploring and defining their professional identities as counsellors, including values, beliefs, and ethical principles that guide their practice.
Self-Reflection and Personal Development: Encouraging supervisees to engage in ongoing self-reflection, exploring personal biases, reactions, and growth edges to enhance self-awareness and effectiveness as counsellors.
Ethical Practice: Ensuring supervisees adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice, promoting client autonomy, confidentiality, and respect for diversity in counselling relationships.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
