Supervision details

My approach to supervision is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to the individual practitioner. Drawing on my knowledge of psychological theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and EMDR, I aim to offer a reflective space where counsellors can explore their clinical work, develop their therapeutic skills, and deepen their understanding of the clients they support.

I believe effective supervision involves more than discussing cases. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the therapeutic relationship, explore the thoughts and feelings that arise during sessions, consider alternative perspectives, and identify appropriate interventions. My approach combines theoretical understanding with practical clinical experience, encouraging practitioners to develop confidence in their decision-making while remaining curious, reflective, and responsive to each client's individual needs.

I aim to create a supportive, non-judgemental environment where practitioners feel comfortable discussing challenges, uncertainties, and successes. Together, we can explore different therapeutic perspectives, consider ethical and professional responsibilities, and identify opportunities for continued development.

Ultimately, my goal is to help practitioners become more confident, self-aware, and effective in their work, supporting them to integrate theory into practice and develop their own authentic therapeutic style.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
