Supervision details
As a counseling supervisor, I am deeply committed to providing comprehensive support and guidance to my supervisees during our supervision sessions. My approach is founded on fostering an atmosphere of trust, openness, and mutual respect, wherein supervisees feel empowered to explore their clinical work, challenges, and personal growth.
During our sessions, I offer a collaborative space where supervisees can reflect on their therapeutic practice, enhance their skills, and address any difficulties they may encounter. I provide constructive feedback, drawing upon my extensive experience and knowledge in mental health and counseling, to facilitate their professional development.
I tailor my supervision approach to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each supervisee, recognising that individuals have diverse backgrounds, experiences, and areas for growth. Whether it involves discussing clinical cases, exploring theoretical concepts, or addressing ethical dilemmas, I strive to create a supportive environment where supervisees feel validated, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential as counselors.
Moreover, I prioritise ongoing learning and professional development, regularly integrating current research, best practices, and ethical considerations into our supervision sessions. By staying attuned to emerging trends and advancements in the field, I aim to equip supervisees with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality, ethical counseling services to their clients.
Overall, my goal as a counseling supervisor is to empower supervisees to navigate the complexities of their clinical work with confidence, compassion, and integrity. I am dedicated to nurturing their professional growth and facilitating their journey toward becoming skilled, self-aware, and ethically responsible counselors.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
