Supervision details

I hold a level 6 certificate in Counselling Supervision, which I completed with Place2Be.

I know how much I value the time I spend working with my supervisor and to be given that space to reflect upon my counselling work and talk through any difficulties I'm having with clients. Sometimes I need inspiration, sometimes I need guidance or to be directed to a resource or some further training. I like to feel listened to and supported in a non judgmental and confidential space.

I will offer you that reflective space where you will feel listened to and heard. I will support you, offer you guidance and share my experiences where they may be helpful or relevant. The agenda is yours and that is important to me. I always like to begin my sessions with you setting the agenda. It is your time to use however you wish.  I use the seven eyed model for my supervision approach. I am also keen to bring in a more creative approach if and when necessary but I tailor my approach to each individual's needs.

As a counsellor of 6 years, I have a lot of experience working with young people in a school setting from ages 6 up to 19. I also work with adults as well as young people in my private practice.

I have worked with an increasing number of neurodivergent clients and I have done further training on understanding Autism and I do a lot of reading on Autism and ADHD in particular. I also have a son with Autism and ADHD so I am able to support you in your work with neurodivergent clients using my experience and additional research and training in this area.

I have also worked with quite a few transgender clients both in the school setting and adults in my private practice.

I charge £50 per hour for supervision but would happily negotiate a lower rate for students. I do my sessions face to face from a cosy cabin in my garden in the heart of Morpeth but I can also offer sessions online via GoogleMeet or over the telephone.

I can offer a free 20-30 minute phone call or Googlemeet chat to discuss your needs and see if we would be a good fit for working together.

I can either offer sessions on a week day evening from 6pm or between the hours of 0900 and 130pm on a Friday. I am happy to do a weekend from time to time, where possible. Please note, I don't offer sessions on a Wednesday.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
