Supervision details

My training was with Robin Shohet and Joan Wilmot at CSTD London. Robin created the 7-eyed style of supervision with Peter Hawkins. This is a multi-faceted model aimed at learning, growth, and reflection. It takes into account, amongst others: your relationship with your clients; what happens between us in the supervisory space that may mirror your work; and interventions used with your clients.

There's a focus on process over content, and I love this way of working with supervisees as it provides an opportunity for deep reflection and self-awareness; all the better for sitting with our clients in attuned presence. It also offers the potential for exploration in a playful way; for instance using role play.

Whilst I'm a humanistic therapist, I welcome the opportunity to work with other modalities and different professional roles, and I also enjoy working with trainee therapists.

Since qualifying in 2019 and starting my private practice, I've also worked in a variety of organisations such as charities in the third sector and EAPs, and more recently work with clients who come to me via their health insurer. I began my career with a heavy focus on working with trauma (particularly relational and developmental, and have worked as a sessional therapist with a rape crisis charity for a number of years). More recently my focus has been on developing a neuroaffirming approach in my work (especially since discovering my own neurodivergence!).

If you've any questions about how I can help you, please get in touch - I'd love to hear from you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
