Supervision details
I see supervision as providing the necessary containment to not only support your client work but to support you in this rewarding and challenging occupation! Many of us unfortunately, have had challenging placements and/or work and training contexts that weren't altogether a positive experience. This can impact our confidence in our practice and affects how we show up in supervision. I want therapists new and old hands to get the support they really need from supervision to enhance and deepen their practice and resilience while providing that therapeutic containment.
I work as an integrative practitioner of adolescents and adults and have experience across different sectors (NHS, schools, charity and private practice). I have had a fair shake of life experience in many different cultural and organisational contexts prior to retraining as a therapist. I am therefore very 'au fait' with office politics, agency-working and strategic thinking. This can be of use to supervisees as they navigate qualifications or ethical issues that arise in our field. I am also a parent.
I try to reduce any power dynamics and feelings of 'impostor' or inferiority and offer a collaborative way of working together that holds the professional (client, sector, organisation processes) and the personal. There are many processes at work in supervision and I am adept in meeting you where you are at.
If this resonates, please get in touch and let's see how we might work together.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
